Stitch Table

This table was created as a personal project meant to reflect the nature of the "Camoufleurs" book I created earlier in the year for friend and fiber artist Anne Selden.

Built from Walnut and Steel, the welded "staples" create an architectural serenity, yet hidden severity, that mimics juxtapositional themes of the art that it was inspired by.

A threateningly sharpened steel pin system locks the underside of the staples to create a sound system of binding for the two walnut planks — separated by an inch-wide gap. Minimal steel legs help to place emphasis on the table's surface.
